ALIGNMENT

LO4: Professional standard

Both individually and in teams, you apply a relevant methodological approach used in the professional field to formulate project goals, involve stakeholders, conduct applied research, provide advice, make decisions, and deliver reports. In doing so, you keep in view the relevant ethical, intercultural, and sustainable aspects.

Reflection

Having a background in Communications, I already knew the importance of a methodological approach. This gave me a solid foundation for LO4.

My task was to support every project I’ve worked on with solid research and stakeholder communication. I also wanted to make sure that my research was purposeful and solved real problems.

Every time I did research I’ve always started with a research question or problem to make sure my research actually had meaning. I also took the role to be the main contact person for our stakeholders, scheduling emails and updating them on our progress. Even tough are stakeholders also were our teachers, I still consistently took the initiative maintain communication in a professional way.

Because of my approach I gained a lot of well documented research and relevant information that was the core of our group project and my personal projects. Since my design was the final choice of our group project, we got a lot of question about our design choices. Since it was my work I was able to explain them all why I made certain choices based on primary and secondary research. The stakeholder communication also went smoothly. They are very happy with the final product. I’m very proud of the responsibility and initiative I took for this LO.

I’m happy with the way I did research, but I could’ve dig deeper in the ethical research. I did make effort for it, for example creating a rulebook video for dyslexic people and mentioned this, but it could’ve been more especially with my expertise in research. I also need to take in account to show more prove of my research, for example, when I did a focus group I forgot to make a picture as proof.
